The MINI Convertible’s 3 Driving Modes allow you to customize drive response at the flick of a switch. Go “Green” for leisurely cruising and optimized fuel-efficiency, or jump into “Sport” to unleash more responsive steering and acceleration. The MINI Convertible will always have your back with available Lane Departure Warning. If your MINI detects that you are drifitng from your lane, it will alert you with both a visual warning and vibrations in the steering wheel – so you can quickly get back into your lane and out of the harm’s way.
The MINI Convertible’s Dynamic Stability Control uses braking and engine deceleration to adjust power output to the wheels, thereby helping eliminate over-steer and under-steer.
Our standard Rear-View Camera does more than just give you a crisp view of what’s behind. It also provides on-screen guidance markers to help you steer into a spot, and acoustic distance warnings which emit an audio tone when you’re getting too close to an object.
The camera-based Driver Assistant System thinks ahead to notify you of what’s going on around you. While you enjoy the ride, it will alert you about changing driving conditions, new speed limits, and approaching pedestrians. At higher speeds, it’ll prime the brakes in preparation for shorter stopping times.
If your MINI’s safety systems detect a rollover, this frame-mounted safety bar will deploy within a fraction of a second to help protect passengers. The system is embedded within the rear belt outlet and disguised by elegant matte black caps.
Variable Valve Timing constantly measures the pressure on the accelerator and precisely regulates the valve timing to ensure maximized airflow into engine cylinders. Valvetronic controls the amount of lift on each intake valve and works to avoid inefficient air flow at low speeds. But when pedal is put to the metal, this system opens the intake valves completely, delivering plenty of punchy acceleration.
MINI’s Twin Power Turbo Engines with direct fuel injection deliver both rapid turbo response and fuel-saving efficiency. They’re engineered to boast torque peaks at speeds as low as 1,250 rpm – meaning less energy wasted and less fuel consumed.
By optimizing throttle response and other fuel consumption functions, this standard Driving Mode ensures eco-friendly motoring.
