In 1946, Charles and John Cooper found the Cooper Car Company and build their first racing cars in a small garage in Surbiton, England.
The Cooper Car company first collaborated with racer John Cooper in 1961, switching out the engine for a more powerful one and introduces bigger brakes, and the Classic MINI Cooper 997 hits the tracks.
The MINI Cooper became the mighty racing champion that, against all odds, went on to win a number of high-profile competitions, including the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965, and 1967.
The MINI has seen repeat success in the rally category: winning the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2019 and the Dakar Rally in 2021.
In 2020, the MINI John Cooper Works GP set new benchmarks for performance and became the fastest ever MINI approved for road use. The limited edition of 3,000 units sold out nearly instantly.
